Sunday
29th May saw the 25th Anniversary of our annual Alex Macfarlane
Memorial Tournament, which this year was won by a rink consisting of
Willie Rae of Cambuslang, partnered by John Kerr from Halfway plus
Brian Pearce and John Stirling, both of Carmyle. This year, the
selected Charity was REACH Lanarkshire Autism,
a local charity which supports families who have a young person with
this condition living in South Lanarkshire. Thanks to the
sterling efforts of tournament organiser Glenda Montgomery, assisted by
Match Secretary Alan Johnston, Club President Richard McInall Junior
was able to present a cheque for almost £1,900 to this very deserving
charity, and both they and the organisers would like to express their
gratitude to all the bowlers and friends who took part and gave so
willingly on the day and not least to our many generous sponsors.
This brings the total raised for charity by this annual event to some
£56,709.
A big thank you to all the people who donated so many prizes for the
annual raffle draw.
Our sincere thanks to Glenda Montgomery and the MacFarlane family. Of course without the fabulous support of local businesses and friends
this wouldn’t have been possible and our thanks go to :
