Sunday
28th May saw the twenty-sixth Anniversary of our annual Alex Macfarlane
Memorial Tournament, which this year was won by a rink consisting of James McGall (CBC President), Cliff MacMillan, Stewart Harbison and Alan Fellows.
Runners-up were John MacFarlane, Frank Wilson, Ronnie Plunkett and David Armstrong.
This year, the selected Charity was Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice, Glasgow's new hospice.
John Shepherd (Halfway BC) presents the cheque for £1,690 on behalf of the Macfarlane family
to Jennifer Douglas of the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice.
Thanks again to the sterling efforts of tournament organisor Glenda
Montgomery, assisted by Match Secretary Alan Johnston, who
expressed their gratitude to all the bowlers and friends who took
part and gave so willingly on the day and not least to our many
generous sponsors.
This brings the total raised for charity by this annual event to £57,399.
A big thank you to all the people who donated so many prizes for the
annual raffle draw.
Our sincere thanks to Glenda Montgomery and the MacFarlane family. Of course without the fabulous support of local businesses and friends
this wouldn’t have been possible.
Star prize donated by Hoover was won by club member Jimmy Lindsay
Another fabulous day at the Cambuslang Bowling Club
(my thanks to Past President Ian Skillen for the photos)
