Jul 30th 2005  Halfway & District BC
With President Billy Dunsmore on holiday, Vice-President Will.McArthur hosted the club's annual visit from our good friends from Halfway BC. Their President was also unavailable and Vice-President Hugh Gebbie headed the visit. This of course gave the two VPs an opportunity of a dress rehearsal for next year!.
Since 1977 this tournament has had a challenge cup - The McGinlay Trophy. The President of Halfway BC in 1977 was Past President Jackie Fergus and he informed me that the cup was donated in his year by the then owner of the Sun Inn Mrs Maureen McGinlay. Both clubs have competed for the trophy ever since with the format of 2 pts a win.
Today we had five triples competing and both clubs had two wins and a draw which was 5 points each, shots were then taken into consideration and Cambuslang won the day. Excellent day was had by one and all.

..
Aug 6th 2005  Claremont BC
With President Billy Dunsmore still on holiday, Vice-President Will.McArthur hosted the club's annual visit from our good friends from Claremont BC. Their President was also unavailable and Past-President George Smith headed the visit.
The weather was lovely and a fine afternoon's bowling took place with the 17 end game finishing with a victory to Claremont, the Cambuslang presi rink being the only Cambuslang team to win!
