.Sadly
this evening one of
our members Jimmy
Hoad died.
This
is one of the last
photographs I took
of Jimmy at his
son's Stuart's sponsored
tournament
last June. Jimmy was
so proud of his son
sponsoring a
tournament and he
was delighted to be
the 'honorary coach'
of both the
sponsored teams -
all kitted out in
teamshirts.
The photo has Jimmy,
his son Stuart, his
grandson Ewan and
six of Jimmy's
close pals from
Cambuslang BC.
The past few years
due to ill health
Jimmy wasn't able to
play bowls but he
still supported the
club and enjoyed a
game of dominoes
every Monday
evening. His wife
Audrey, another keen
bowler, died exactly
10 years ago and
hers was a loss
Jimmy never really
got over.
Our sincere
condolences go to
his son Stuart,
daughter Glenda and
all the family. We
will all miss 'auld
Jimmy' at Cambuslang
BC. ....... rest in
peace
pal.
This video was first
shown on 7th June
2008 at the Jimmy Hoad
memorial
tournament
I should add that
Jimmy was
affectionately known
as 'Father Jack'
from the TV series
Father Ted
.
