  09th July 2022   CBC v Halfway & District BC
The parish match between our two clubs is made a bit special as since 1977 the tournament has had a challenge cup - The McGinlay Trophy, donated by the then owner of the Sun Inn Mrs Maureen McGinlay.
The President of Cambuslang BC in 1977 was Jim Montgomery Sen and the Halfway BC President was Jackie Fergus.
Both clubs have competed for the trophy ever since with the format of 2 pts a win.
Today we had five triples visiting us from Halfway BC who retained the trophy - congratulations.
Another great day bowling with superb sunny weather.

  16th July 2022   Masonic Tournament Cambuslang Lodge 114 v Kilmarnock 126

z

Cambuslang BC were delighted to host this tournament ran by Cambuslang RA 114 lodge, where local Cambuslang lodges and lodges from Ayrshire played in a four rink tournament.  The weather was fantastic, great food was laid on and the event was superbly organised by Barry Finlayson, ably assisted by Peter Phillips who did sterling work in the bar. A great day was had by all and it was nice to welcome our friends from Ayrshire to the Cambuslang sunshine!  The cup was retained by Cambuslang.

  16th July 2022   John Barton

John Barton
Sadly after a long illness, former director, John Barton passed away tonight.
John was ever present at the club until his health deteriorated and he was admitted into Rodger Park Nursing Home in Rutherglen. John's wife Elaine and son Iain are both members of the club and our sincere condolences go to the family at this very sad time.
John was a lovely, well liked guy around the club and prior to his illness participated in many tournaments and he and his wife Elaine were regulars at our club cabaret nights.
John was in the winning rink that won the RDBA Gilliland League in 2010. & 2012
