  Ladies & Gents mixed tournament
                A lovely day at the club organised by our Ladies section led by Lady President Ann Phillips.
          Three rinks of triples and two rinks of pairs competed for the trophy supplied by sponsor Past Lady President Grace Reid

Hon President Ian Skillen for organising todays matches.
Lady President Ann Phillips and her committee for their hospitality, delicious homemade soup, sandwiches, sausage rolls etc.

  10th Aug  Birrell Corrance mixed tournament

  Fabulous outing today, enjoyed by everyone.
  Our thanks to our sponsor, Robert Birrell, of Birrell Corrance for his sponsorship of our tournament.
  President Peter Phillips once again presided over the bar and ensured everyone received a meal from our local chippy!
  After a lovely sunny afternoon of competitive bowling the overall winners were .........

  17th Aug  CBC Gents Seniors end of league party
  Cambuslang & District Seniors League (CDSL) a fourteen week rinks league played by eight local clubs
 home and away from May to August. Two opposing teams compete each Wednesday morning.
 It is organised and run by Hon. President Ian Skillen from Cambuslang BC, a weekly outing we all enjoy.

  At the end of every season we have a party for the players who have participated throughout the year.
   The photo shows the happy bunch who have contributed to the seniors group. Sadly a few are missing
   due to holidays and health issues, they were missing but not forgotten.
   This year Jimmy Lindsay our 'team manager' did a sterling job. The party was superbly organised, as
   per usual, .... soup, sandwiches, pizza, crisps, nuts ... generous bar and of course a few ends of bowls.
   Thanks to everyone who contributed to a lovely afternoon amongst good pals.


  18th Aug  Masonic Tournament, Ayrshire & Cambuslang bowlers

   Every year Cambuslang Masons have a bowling outing with Masons from Ayrshire, alternating each year, where it's played.
   This year Cambuslang RA 114 & Buchanan 1499 played at Glenfield Bowling Club with lodges from Ayrshire;
namley Kilmaurs 1398, Kilmarnock 126,  St.Johns 22 and Burns St. Mary 505.

  24th Aug  Presidents Ryder Cup
   10 am met up for rolls 'n sausage, tea & coffee supplied by Lady President Ann Phillips.
  10.30 draw made splitting 24 players into two teams of 12..... President's v Vice -Presidents
  11.00 first six single ties played over six ends.  12:00 three rinks ties played, five ends.
  12:40 Lunch supplied by Lady President, home made soup & bread.
  13:30 four triples played, five ends    14:45 six pairs played, five ends    16:00
final six single ties played
  17:00 dinner of mince round, potatoes & beans
supplied by Lady President
  Weather was lovely today and we all had a great time. Our sincere thanks to our President and his wife
  for their wonderful hospitality and friendship.




  28th Aug  Cambuslang & District Seniors League presentation

All eight bowling clubs converged at our club today to present the league winners, Mt.Vernon Bowling Club, with the trophy.
Normally the winning club hosts this event but Mt.Vernon kindly offered us to host as it's our 150th Anniversary.
As per usual, we had tea and biscuits at 10am followed by 15 ends of bowls, thereafter we had a light lunch and the presentation.
Our thanks once again goto to CDSL convenor Hon.President Ian Skillen.
