  With the President on holiday Past President Jim Low welcomed our friends from Kirkhill B.C.


  05th Oct  Gents Closing Day - Balloted Pairs
  President Peter Phillips welcomed the members to our 2024 closing day. Surprisingly we had wonderful weather and Hon.President
  Ian Skillen organised the Ballotted Pairs into two sections.  After a lovely afternoon bowling the final was played between :-
                         Gary Laidlaw/John Mackay v John Blair/Lewis Miller  and after a very good final the winners were :-

  15th Oct  PPast President Alex Hart
   Sorry to hear the news that Past President Alex Hart died on Tuesday 15th October. Our sincere condolences to the family
  
       FUNERAL:- Thursday 7th Nov. Daldowie Crematorium 1:45pm and thereafter to Burnside Hotel for soup & sandwiches.

    Some of the comments from the members on hearing the news........
 

                 Bob Clark: Just heard from his daughter Susan that Alex Hart passed away last Tuesday. Funeral date and cause of death TBA                                                     
                                                                   Ian Skillen: He could cause a row in an empty house but I always had a soft spot for him.
                                                                                       Met up with him and Lorraine in Benidorm a few times. Real character. RIP.

                           Colin Johnston: 100% correct Ian.  Felt the same.  Nice guy. Sad loss                                                      

                                 
Bobby Thomson: Sorry to hear that , he loved to win back in the days as did we all . Gent of the game.

      John MacDonald: Sorry to hear of Alex passing. Won my first cup at CBC in the nominated pairs with him, way back in the day.

  30th Nov  Presidents Dance  St.Andrew's Night
  A fab party night at our club, hosted by Hon. President Peter Phillips and his wife Lady President Ann.
  We were entertained by local cabaret star Audrey Hepburn.



  01st  Dec  PMember Robert Davie
  Afer a short battle with cancer, Robert passed away peacefully, in his sleep surrounded by his family, on the evening of 01st December 2024
  Robert was ever present in the Senior Section and thoroughly enjoyed his Wednesday morning bowls amongst his pals. Always a willing hand
  to help out and make our visitors welcome, his friendly smile and presence about the Club will be missed.
  Our sincere condolences to his brother Past President Charlie Davie and all the family.
