      AULD CAMBUSLANG

Jim & Eleanor Ferguson, both very good friends of mine recently showed me some old photographs from Eleanor's father's collection.
Her Dad, Robert G. Henderson, known as Bobby, was a well known photographer in the 1950s-60s.
These photographs are too good not to be shared and seen by future generations.      Enjoy............... webmaister.

St. Andrew's Parish Church of Scotland, Cambuslang
St. Andrew's Church of Scotland (1961–66, by Beveridge & Dallachy). This was part of the Cambuslang new town centre 'with many popular mannerisms'. In one courtyard is a relief of 'Christ and St Andrew' (by Thomas Wallen, who also designed the font and chancel pavement). The furnishings and stained glass windows are 19th-century relics from the demolished Rosebank & West Parish churches.
The organ is by Compton. The building has served as Cambuslang Parish Church since the 2008 union of three local churches, namely:
Cambuslang Old Parish, Trinity St. Paul’s church, and St.Andrew’s church.
