Jim & Eleanor Ferguson, both very good friends of mine recently showed me some old photographs from Eleanor's father's collection.
 Her Dad, Robert G. Henderson, known as Bobby, was a well known photographer in the 1950s-60s.

The Victoria Diamond Jubilee Fountain is now outside Cambuslang Railway station entrance. An inscription on the fountain reads:- Presented by Hugh Glen Wellshot House, Cambuslang in commemoration of the Diamond Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Victoria, 1897 ~ ~ ~

This old map shows the original location of the drinking fountain (D Fn) at Vicarland Rd. jcn of Greenlees Rd. with the playground in the background

The fountain was restored to its present position outside Cambuslang Railway Station with the assistance of the Rotary Club of Cambuslang in recognition of the Centenary of Rotary International, June 2005
