Guest Speakers: John Gahagan & Jimmy Nichol ~
John Gahagan
(born 24 August 1958 in Glasgow) is a Scottish former footballer who
played as a left winger. Gahagan spent most of his career with
Motherwell, spending twelve seasons with the Fir Park club, either side
of spells with Clydebank latterly Morton. During his time at Fir Park,
Gahagan picked up two Scottish Football League First Division titles.
A fully qualified SFA coach, Gahagan worked as a football development
officer in Clackmannanshire before becoming an after-dinner speaker,
winning the MBN trophy after being voted 'Scottish Sporting Speaker of
the Year' in 2001.

James
Michael "Jimmy" Nicholl (born 28 February 1956) is a Canadian-born
former Northern Ireland international footballer who played for several
clubs, including Manchester United and Rangers. He was mainly a
right-back but could also play in other defensive roles. Nicholl won a
total of 73 international caps for Northern Ireland, scoring one
goal.
After retiring as a player, he moved into coaching and management. He
enjoyed success as manager of Raith Rovers, winning the 1994–95
Scottish League Cup. In recent years he has worked as an assistant
coach for some Scottish Premier League clubs, including Aberdeen,
Kilmarnock and Hibernian. His most recent managerial position was for
Scottish Championship side Cowdenbeath.

President and social convenor John McKillop
John uses his many
contacts to get us excellent speakers and this night
was another resounding success.

guest speaker Gordon Smith 2014
Gordon Smith: a former Chief Executive of the
Scottish Football Association which he joined in 2007.
Previously he had been a football analyst for BBC Radio Scotland
and BBC TV and he appeared regularly for five years on Scotland
Match of the Day. As a footballer, he played for most of his
career at Ibrox Park with Glasgow Rangers.
