A
glorious sunny afternoon
on Saturday 10th September
seen a packed
bowling club enjoy
watching four finals.
The main event of course
was the championship on
rink 1 where Alan Johnston
was playing former club
champion Brian Page.
It was a superb match
which had the crowd
cheering and after a tense
tussle we had a new club
champion in a very
delighted
Alan Johnston. It was
great to see the club full
and nice to have so
many of our friends from
Halfway BC along, also
great to see
Past President Scott
Crichton, who now works in
China, in
attendance. Our
thanks to the match
committee for organising
the
day and thanks to
Hon.President Ian Skillen
for his umpire duties.

Champion Alan Johnston
~
A
very rare occurance that the
Gents & Ladies champions are
related,
but this year Mother and son,
Jessie and Alan Johnston
achieved that
feat.
It also occured in 2007
when another Mother and Son won
the championships in Mary and
Scott Russell.
A unique photo!
